Kristin Noel Fischer writes women’s fiction, romance, and inspirational fiction. Born on the island of Guam, she’s always loved the water and sunshine. Growing up, she spent endless hours fantasizing about touring with the Harlem Globetrotters or becoming a circus performer. In fact, her childhood daydreams were so vivid, she seriously worried about her overactive imagination. Little did she know, despite her horrible spelling, she was, simply, a writer. After high school, she lived in Costa Rica and later Japan, where she journaled extensively about her experiences. She worked as a nanny in Boston before obtaining a degree in Biology from Washington State University. Kristin now lives in Texas where she enjoys biking, yoga, and spending time with her husband and six kids.

This book grabbed me from the first page. Loved getting the story from both the mother's and daughter's perspectives. Fischer creates very real characters with struggles that are believable and heart-wrenching. Wonderful combination of womens fiction and love stories wrapped up with some beautiful prose. Can't wait for more from this new author.

Loved it! This articulate and emotionally satisfying storyline reverts back and forth between the lives of a mother and daughter, hinting at and slowly revealing a past secret that will impact their present and future. The book depicts a relatable family with all its flaws, problems and differences, one that manages to pull together when it's important for them to do so. Very entertaining, believable and well-written. Once I started it, I didn't want to put it down!

Sections on patient photo-techniques, type of camera and flash equipment are very well detailed, are excellent and very well illustrated. However, chapter on digital photography was poor and not consistent with the quality of the information found in the rest of the book. In summary, this is a very good resource for interns/residents/fellows, medical photo technicians and physicians in practice.

You trade based on RULES. This book is so good, I will keep it for future reference & plan to re-read. It's so easy to get caught up in emotion but it truly takes sticking to your rules and discipline to succeed. Another tip the floor trader taught me, this book also outlines, where is your trade broken? That is your exit/stop if it fails. You find where it's broken at support & resistance. Plan to fail, plan your stops and the winners will take care of themselves. Also exit your trade with a gain at support & resistance. Cannot say enough good things, this book is a MUST have for any serious trader.

This book is pure experience and common sense, explained in an honest way.
The explanations are good for understanding the logic behind this rules, and even better to remember it.
A set of rules every trader must learn, usually the hard way.
If you are a new trader and can assimilate just one of the rules from this book, then you would be eating a very expensive and hard to prepare lunch for less than 3 bucks.
As I said, the closest you'll get from a free lunch.

Not exactly forced

There were a few things that took this story out of category as the other's. One Jericho didn't have to force Renna bcz she wanted it. requested it and was looking forward to it. So the surprise/fear aspect was not there. Another thing was the introduction of the guy on guy thing. Which lead to him being apologetic. None of the other men in this series had to be apologetic about anything. I say if there is going to be a story like this just do it. Own it and make no apologies. The best scene in the story in my opinion was him breaking the door down. That was Hot.

This is the story of Jericho and the object of his affections, Renna. Renna has some seriously hot desires and Jericho intends to fulfill every one of them. Celia Aaron is a master at writing filthy dirty erotic romance. Forced by the Quarterback is definitely a romance, with sex that will make you shiver.

One word review: SIZZLE

But one word isn't enough.

Novellas are either hit or miss for me. Most of the time they are complete superficial fluff. I like finding a novella that feels like it could be a hidden chapter from a novel. The depth, plot, content are framed by little well fed exposition; the dialogue isn't overdone and pedantic. When done successfully reading a good novella gives the same satisfaction as a full length book.

Celia Aaron got my attention right away and kept a great pacing with brief stops that allowed the story to simmer down and not peak early and decline too soon. The breaks also are used to add context for the characters and the sexual relationship. They act as vignettes to allow the reader see the character have some growth in a truncated story. Jericho and Renna have that chemistry that connects them and balance their characters quite successfully.

This book does have implied dubcon, rape fantasies, and BDSM acts. It is not recommended for those with triggers.

The Goes The Neighborhood

With book two focus of Polly's new mummy I though this book was going to be focus strictly on the new neighbors being a cross between The Munsters and The Addams Family. In reality Polly thinks it time that her dad the doctor get re married and she has a new mom. Every time she tries to get her dad to bump into a nice woman she approves of Veronica Kreep shows up and he takes more of in interest in the lovely woman that Polly thinks is a witch.

About the Author
Project Director, Interviewer, and Editor Irene Reti directs the Regional History Project at the UC Santa Cruz library, where she has worked as an editor and oral historian since 1989. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a Master’s in History from UC Santa Cruz. Her novel, Kabbalah of Stone, was published in 2010. Interviewer and Editor Sarah Rabkin has taught in UC Santa Cruz’s writing program and environmental studies department for over twenty-five years. She has led an undergraduate seminar for the Program in Community and Agroecology that focuses on concepts of community and agroecology in the context of sustainability. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Harvard University and a graduate certificate in Science Communication from UCSC. Her book of essays, What I Learned at Bug Camp, was published in 2011. Interviewer Ellen Farmer has a B.A. in journalism from San Jose State University and a Master’s in public policy from the Panetta Institute at California State University, Monterey Bay with a specialization in issues in sustainable agriculture, particularly coffee growing. Farmer worked on an interim basis as marketing director for the California Certified Organic Farmers in 2006.

Inspiring stories, important history

This collection of stories of Central Coast farmers is a true gem, an uplifting and fun read. It reveals how everyday folk followed their passion to produce healthy food without chemicals, often at great financial risk, without success stories to boost them in uncertain moments, and always with tons of hard work. What you end up understanding is how they truly were pioneers even though they really didn't know it. All are humble and many laughingly say some version of "We didn't know what we were doing back then!" We owe them our gratitude for their perseverance and the incredible knowledge of the field that has resulted, making organic agriculture viable on a much larger scale and available to many more people. Not to mention all the great food that has been produced! The bigger story that comes through these oral histories is how people do make remarkable changes in the world in humble ways.

"We in the United States are in the early throes of a revolution," writes historian Linda L. Ivey in the foreword to Cultivating a Movement, "a radical change in the way we think about food." The revolution Ivey refers to is the organic farming movement, the biggest change to American agriculture since the adoption of synthetic pesticides and herbicides after World War II. "For this development in our food industry we can thank, in large part a group of revolutionaries from the Central Coast of California."

More than two dozen of those revolutionary farmers were interviewed for this book, a project of the University of California, Santa Cruz' library. Each chapter contains the narrative from one farmer or farm family, and their stories and perspectives are radically different. Some, like Betty Van Dyke, who grew up on her Croatian-American family's orchard in Cupertino in the 1930s were born to the land; others were hippies, like Amigo Bob Cantisano, founding organizer of the Ecological Farming Conference, the West's largest and oldest sustainable agriculture conference, and a descendent of California's earliest Spanish families. Cantisano began growing food in the backyard of a commune in the late 1960s:

"That's when I started doing gardening, because it was like, starvation time, and the Diggers were giving away free food, but the only thing else that was really around was USDA surplus food, which was a bunch of crap...We didn't have any money, so we started gardening, tore up the backyard and started growing stuff, partly because I had a little experience from when I was a kid, and partly because I was just determined to do it. And then there was one other kid who had grown up and lived on a farm...So the two of us ended up being kind of the commune's gardeners."
Oral history is a rich way to gather first-person accounts of any era or place. But we ramble when we talk; interviewers need attention and sensitivity to keep interviews focused and also remain open to potentially valuable digressions. Editors must be able to separate the verbal chaff from the valuable kernels of story while preserving the distinct characteristics of voice and personality. Fortunately for Cultivating a Movement, interviewer-editors Reti and Rabkin, plus interviewer Ellen Farmer, had the deft touch necessary to yield a book of compelling and informative stories.

Like that of Mar�a In�s Catal�n, the first Latina farmworker to own and operate an organic farm in California, and the first in the whole country to operate a CSA, a community-supported agriculture farm. In�s Catal�n was the last of her migrant farmworker family to emigrate from Mexico, arriving two decades ago with four children in tow.

"When I went to learn how to develop a CSA, everything was in English. I went to a conference in San Francisco and we had to sleep in the car. We'd have coffee and a donut all day, because we didn't qualify for the lunches...And I would say, 'All of these things I am going through have to add up to something someday, because this can't all be in vain.' And sure enough, now we have our own CSA. We have it all...Right now we are attending a farmers market in the marketplace in Ferry Plaza [San Francisco], every Saturday. And I'm at the one in Berkeley three times a week. Those are the best markets in the whole country, in the whole country. So, just imagine. But like I say, I didn't get there with just my good looks..."

About the Author
Roger R. Hock, PhD, is a professor of psychology and human sexuality at Mendocino College in northern California. He received his MA in Psychology from San Diego State University and his PhD in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego. He is also the author of Forty Studies that Changed Psychology: Explorations into the History of Psychological Research (Pearson, 2012) and coauthor (with Meg Kennedy Dugan) of It’s My Life Now: Starting over after an Abusive Relationship or Domestic Violence (Routledge, 2006), and (with Amy Marin) Psychology, a digital introductory psychology textbook from Pearson Education.

Dr. Hock has been teaching psychology and human sexuality for over twenty-five years. Human Sexuality is his favorite class to teach and is consistently one of the most popular among students. He believes that Human Sexuality is an essential course for college students because the topics covered are fundamental to our lives and our identities as humans. He asserts that the Human Sexuality course should be a requirement for all undergraduate college and university students. Why? Because the material in this course touches everyone, in countless ways, throughout their lives. But, more importantly, students, upon entering college as adults, often lack a complete and current understanding of at least some, if not many, key issues that combine to create the complexities of humans as sexual beings. Sex education in grades K—12 tends to be incomplete, inadequate, sometimes misleading, and too often, nonexistent. Moreover, not all parents are willing or able to impart the necessary and correct information to their children. Students in higher education clearly need and deserve the knowledge they acquire in this class.

Great Read

The author explains everything so well. I love how he incorporates questions his students have asked him throughout the years and actually answers them in this textbook in an educated manner. I rented this textbook and the quality in which I received it was near new. I really enjoyed this textbook since it wasn’t hard to comprehend at all. The price of this textbook is high but if you manage to rent it, I can honestly say that you will enjoy it.

However the study observes that by the late 1990s, feminist issues were also readily appropriated by the state and the market, and also suggests that the emergence of ‘market feminism’ poses specific challenges for the future of the Malaysian women’s movement. About the Author

Cecilia Ng is an independent researcher and women's rights advocate. She has taught at Universiti Putra Malaysia , the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, where she served as editor of the AIT-based Journal of Gender, Technology and Development, as well as at the Science University of Malaysia. Cecilia has conducted research and published widely on gender, development and work and is active in women’s groups in Malaysia where she is involved in research, training and advocacy on advancing the women’s movement in Malaysia.

Maznah Mohamad is currently a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Research Institute of the National University of Singapore. She is also author of the book The Malay Handloom Weavers: A Study of the Rise and Decline of Traditional Manufacture (1996) and co-editor of Feminism: Malaysian Critique and Experience (1994).

tan beng hui is trained in political economy and economic history. She has been involved in the Malaysian women's movement since 1990, during which time she has tried to put sexuality rights on the agenda of local women's groups. She worked for an international women's human rights NGO based in Kuala Lumpur for four years before returning to local activism. Currently, she is involved in organising Fiesta Feminista, an initiative to popularise feminism in Malaysia.

The book helped me get over a hard time

My Grandfather named Bob, recently past away, and during the funeral, this enchanting book was read. Not only did it bring smiles of joy, yet smiles of sadness, but tears to grown men. Every member of my family now owns a copy of the book, and every time we seem sad about him passing away, we remember "Just Bob was there". I believe this book is not only for children, but adults as well, and everyone should read it.

It Could Have Happened This Way

For those of us who feel that Fanny Price should have married Henry Crawford this was a wonderful story.
